Step by step directions for adding a search box to your HomePage.com Web site:
 
 
1. Print this page for easier reading.
 
2. Log into your siteLevel account.
 
3. Click on the "Search Box Options" tab, and click on the "Get JavaScript Search Box Code" link.
 
4. Highlight the code for your JavaScript search box and , at the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Copy" to copy your search box code.
 
5. Visit http://www.homepage.com/login/ and login to your account.
 
6. Click on the "Change a Page" link.
 
7. Click on the "Change" button to the right of the filename that you would like to add your search box to.
 
 
 
 
NON-HTML EDITOR
- If you are using the non-HTML editor (the one which does not require direct editing of HTML code), please continue with the following instructions:
 
8 Click on the "Change" button of the "Text" area that you would like to add your search box to.
 
9 Put your cursor in the place in the text box where you would like to add your search box.
 
10 At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
11 Click on the "Done" button.

Click on the "Preview" button to verify that your search box has been placed correctly.  If you are happy with the placement of your search box, proceed to Step 13 below.
 
If you would like to change the placement of your search box, please do the following:
 
a Click on the "Change" button for the "Text" area that contains your search box.
 
b Highlight your search box code (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel Search Box Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel Search Box Code -->").
 
c At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Cut" to remove your search box code.
 
d You may now try placing your search box code again, going back to Step 9 above.
 
13 Click on the "Continue" button at the top of the page.
 
14 Click on the "Save" button.
 
 
 
 
HTML EDITOR
- If you are using the HTML editor (the on which requires direct editing of HTML code), please continue with the following instructions:
 
8 Put your cursor in your HTML code text box where you would like to add your search box code.
 
9 At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
10 Click on the "Save HTML" button at the bottom of the page.
 
11 Click on the link to the page that you just edited.

Verify that your search box has been placed correctly.  If you are happy with the placement of your search box, then you have successfully added your search box to your site.
 
If you would like to change the placement of your search box, please do the following:
 
a Press the "Back" button of your Web browser two times.  This should take you back to your HTML code editor.
 
b Highlight your search box code (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel Search Box Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel Search Box Code -->").
 
c At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Cut" to remove you search box code.
 
d You may now try placing your search box code again, going back to Step 8 above.
 
 
 
Congratulations!  You have successfully added your search box to your site!
