Step by step directions for adding a search box to your theglobe.com Web site:
 
 
1. Print this page for easier reading.
 
2. Log into your siteLevel account.
 
3. Click on the "Search Box Options" tab, and click on the "Get JavaScript Search Box Code" link.
 
4. Highlight the code for your JavaScript search box and, at the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Copy" to copy the code.
 
5. Visit http://www.theglobe.com and login to your account.
 
6. On the page that pops up, click on "Build your homepage".  This should take you to "The Homepage Builder".
 
7. On the top navigation bar, click on "filemanager".
 
8. On the middle of the page is a directory listing of your files.  Put a check in the check box next to the file that you would like to add a search box to.
 
9. From the "Choose Function:" drop down menu, select "edit file", and press the "Submit" button.
 
 
 
 
PAGE BUILDER
- If the Web page that your have selected in still in the Page Builder format (Page Builder is the only editor that you have modified it with), you will be taken to the Page Builder to modify this page.  If this is the case, please continue with the following instructions.  Otherwise, please refer to the "Custom HTML" section below.
 
10 In the page that appears, please the "Edit" button next to the main body area of your Web page - this will be the section of your page with the most text.
 
11 A new window will appear.  Under "4. Section Contents:", put your cursor in the text box where you would like to place your search box.
 
12 At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
13 Press the "Submit" button.
 
14 In the "Builder Menu" line of the main editor page, click on the "Preview" button.
 
15 A new browser window will open, giving you a preview of your modified Web page. Please verify that your search box is placed correctly.
 
If it is not, please go back to editor for your Web page.  click on the "Edit" button of the area of the page that you added your search box.  Delete your search box code (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel Search Box Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel Search Box Code -->").  Press the "Submit" button.  Now you can try placing your search box code again, starting with Step 10 above.
 
 
 
 
CUSTOM HTML
- If you have edited your Web page outside of Page Builder, you will be taken to the Custom HTML editor.  This will allow you to directly edit the HTML of your Web page.  If this is the case, please continue with the following instructions.
 
10 In the HTML text box box, put your cursor in your Web page code where you would like to add your search box code.
 
11 At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
12 Click the "Save & View" button.
 
13 The modified Web page will now be loaded.  Please verify that your search box is placed correctly.
 
If you would like to change that placement of your search box, press the "Back" button of your Web browser; delete your search box code (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel Search Box Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel Search Box Code -->"); and try placing your search box code again, starting with Step 10 above.
 
 
 
Congratulations!  You have successfully added your search box to your site!
