Step by step directions for adding a search box to your Freetown Web site:
 
 
1. Print this page for easier reading.
 
2. Log into your siteLevel account.
 
3. Click on the "Search Box Options" tab, and click on the "Get JavaScript Search Box Code" link.
 
4. Highlight the code for your JavaScript search box and, at the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Copy" to copy the code.
 
5. Visit http://www.freetown.com/free/newhome.html and enter your Neighborhood Address, Password, and the Page Name that you would like to add your search box to.
 
6. Click on either the "Auto Formatting Editor" or "Regular HTML Editor".
 
 
 
 
AUTO FORMATTING EDITOR
- If you are using the "Auto Formatting Editor", please use the following instructions.  If you are using ther "Regular HTML Editor", please refer to the "Regular HTML Editor" below.
 
7 In the main body text box, put your cursor where you would like to place your search box.
 
8 At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
9 Click on the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page.

Verify that your search box has been placed correctly.  If you are happy with the placement of your search box, proceed to Step 11 below.
 
If you would like to change the placement of your search box, please do the following:
 
a Press the "Back" button of your Web browser.
 
b Highlight your search box code (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel Search Box Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel Search Box Code -->").
 
c At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Cut" to remove your search box code.
 
d You may now try placing your search box code again, starting with Step 7 above.
 
11 Press the "Back" button of your Web browser.
 
12 Click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
 
 
 
 
REGULAR HTML EDITOR
- If you are using the "Regular HTML Editor", please use the following instructions.
 
7 Put your cursor in the HTML code text box where you would like to add your search box code.
 
8 At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Paste" to paste your search box code.
 
9 Click on the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page.

Verify that your search box has been placed correctly.  If you are happy with the placement of your search box, proceed to Step 11 below.
 
If you would like to change the placement of your search box, please do the following:
 
a Press the "Back" button of your Web browser.
 
b Highlight your search box code (starting with "<!-- Begin siteLevel Search Box Code -->" and ending with "<!-- End siteLevel Search Box Code -->").
 
c At the very top of your Web browser window (in the top toolbar), click on "Edit" and "Cut" to remove your search box code.
 
d You may now try placing your search box code again, starting with Step 7 above.
 
11 Press the "Back" button of your Web browser.
 
12 Click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
 
 
 
Congratulations!  You have successfully added your search box to your site!
